Excitement filled the school on Tuesday 24th January as classes
3 & 4 prepared for the call of "lights, camera, action!".The BBC had come to film at our school and all because of our famous pupil Alfred Williams the Hammerman Poet (1877-1930). The filming was part of a feature to be shown on the BBC's 'Inside Out (West)' programme marking a new musical, organised by the Alfred Williams Heritage Society, about the poet which is due to open in the early part of 2012 at the New College Swindon. The BBC were joined by the presenter of 'Inside Out (West)' and the actor who will be playing Alfred Williams. Four of our class 4 pupils where also chosen for speaking parts in the filming whilst all the children of classes 3 and 4 were filmed in the playground playing traditional games dressed for the victorian era. It was a lovely sight to see (as the photographs show) and I'm sure we will all look forward to hopefully seeing it soon on television. We don't have an exact date for the broadcast but keep an eye out for it throughout February or March. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
