Children swim during the year at Highworth pool and, over the last few years, all have reached standards of which they and we can be proud. We see swimming not only as part of the National Curriculum, but also as a means of enjoying sport and keeping fit.
Water safety is also emphasised and it gives the children a sense of achievement as they pass through the standards. Most children in the older age groups are extremely competent swimmers.

Topic work includes visits to local buildings of interest and the production of work, which is then usually displayed in school. Parents are most welcome to visit the school to look at the work that the children are taking part in.
The whole school has also taken part in the Community Forest project at Nightingale Farm, planting trees and making return visits periodically for further work. The children have worked alongside Great western Community Forest to create a podcast of a walk from the village to Oxleaze Woods.
