Swimming
Water safety is also emphasised and it gives the children a sense of achievement as they pass through the standards. Most children in the older age groups are extremely competent swimmers. Links with the Local Community Topic work includes visits to local buildings of interest and the production of work, which is then usually displayed in school. Parents are most welcome to visit the school to look at the work that the children are taking part in. ![]() The whole school has also taken part in the Community Forest project at Nightingale Farm, planting trees and making return visits periodically for further work. The children have worked alongside Great western Community Forest to create a podcast of a walk from the village to Oxleaze Woods. This is available to download HERE... ![]() The children regularly put on productions of various natures for parents and other interested parties. 'A group from the Friendly Club thoroughly enjoyed the Nativity Play in the church performed by the pupils of our school.
Awards
The school has achieved a number of awards including: Healthy Schools Award and has twice been awarded the School Achievement Award. We have achieved the Basic Skills Agency Quality Mark for a third time and have recently been awarded the Silver Artsmark. ![]()
