Wiltshire Wildlife Trust - St Julians's Close

During July 2010 Wiltshire Wildlife Trust organised artists and a drama group to work alongside the children on a project in St Julians's Close in the village of South Marston.

The Wildlife Trust are developing a nature walk and the children were some of the first visitors to experience the site. Artists led the children in some close observational drawings of the type of animals they would see at the site, whilst other children made a picture using plants and nature at the site and discovered the many minibeasts present by using nets and other equipment.

A drama group also performed a short play based on the animals that could be seen in the nature area. The children had a wonderful day.

The project with Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is due to continue in Term 4 with the children helping to design and make a mosaic tabletop for a table and bench that will be later placed in the nature reserve.

It is great to be involved in such a worthwhile community project.
